WHAT IS INVISALIGN?
Straight, properly aligned teeth are more than just desirable and attractive: they're also more comfortable and healthier. Crooked teeth and an improper bite may lead to long-term dental concerns that can be expensive and painful to fix. This is why board-certified dentist Dr. Mohit Shardha is proud to offer Invisalign (a well-known brand of clear, removable teeth aligners) to his patients in Frisco, TX. Made custom to fit your teeth and your unique goals, Invisalign is more attractive and comfortable than traditional metal orthodontics because they can be taken out to make cleaning your teeth and eating easier. If you're interested in having healthier teeth with advanced Invisalign technology, schedule a consultation at Zensmiles to get more information from Dr. Shardha.

CANDIDATES FOR INVISALIGN
There are several factors that can affect the alignment of your teeth, including genetics, thumbsucking as a child, the loss of a tooth or teeth, and physical trauma to your face. The misalignment of your teeth may cause more oral health problems, including bite issues (dental malocclusion), abnormal enamel wear, difficulty chewing and speaking, and toothaches and jaw pain. If Dr. Shardha notices one of these concerns during your annual dental exam, he may suggest an orthodontic treatment like Invisalign.
Invisalign is ideal for both adults and teens who would like straighter, healthier teeth without the pain, hassle, and appearance of braces. Even though they do need to be in most of the time, Invisalign can be removed for eating and brushing your teeth, as well as for special events and playing sports. Far more discreet than traditional braces that cut and poke the inside of the mouth, your family and friends will probably not be able to tell that you're wearing an Invisalign tray.
What To Expect
The first Invisalign trays will be created using digital impressions taken at our office. Once they're ready, you will return to receive your first trays along with instructions from Dr. Shardha. You need to keep your aligners in for at least 20 hours each day for your treatment to be effective, ideally taking them out only for cleaning and eating. In time, you'll move on to the next set of trays as they gently shift your teeth closer to proper alignment. You will need to have follow-ups about every 4 – 6 weeks at Zensmiles to have the fit of your aligning trays checked and to get more digital impressions taken so your next set of trays can be made. The length of time that you use Invisalign trays will differ based on the initial condition of your teeth and your goals; however, many patients wear trays for around one year.
