WHAT ARE PORCELAIN CROWNS?
If you have a tooth that has become worn down or damaged over time, there are options available to save it, preserve the health of your other teeth, and restore your oral health. Sometimes called a dental cap, crowns are custom-made to fit over your existing tooth and colored to blend in with the surrounding teeth for a seamless appearance. At Zensmiles in Frisco, TX, crowns are crafted with medical-grade porcelain to ensure the highest quality and best outcome. These crowns can be used to address a large area of decay, protect a weak tooth, hold together a cracked tooth, or cover a discolored tooth. Porcelain Crowns Reviews
"This was by far the BEST dental experience EVER! I made no secret I was petrified of a dentist. The last dentist made a temporary crown and used permanent cement and the crown finally broke... 3 years later!! I had teeth pulled when I was a child and the dentist used NO anesthetic because he didn't think it was necessary!?! I could go on. They made me feel comfortable and less anxious about putting in another crown with IV sleep. IT WAS AMAZING!!! He prescribed pain medication after the procedure and I didn't even need to fill it!!! Best dentist in the world!!"- M.G. / Yelp / May 05, 2015
"I have had many bad dental experiences and haven't been to the dentist in many years. My front teeth were very weak and starting to chip. A friend of mine highly recommended Dr Shardo at Zen Smiles. I was always taking the pictures of our grandkids and I almost never had my picture taken because I wouldn't smile. I finally worked up the courage to see Dr Shardo and he is amazing. Also Karen at the front desk is the sweetest person you will ever meet. I had 6 crowns on the top and they look fantastic. I smile every day I love my new teeth. "I was in need of cosmetic work that included crowns and veneers on my front teeth. Dr. Sharda did incredibly thorough job making sure the veneers and crowns looked real and match the rest of my teeth. Multiple pictures where taken and included free follow up sessions until my smile was perfect. Dr. also spotted an underlying issue with a botched root canal and sent me to another great specialist to get it addressed. They where upfront about costs as well so no surprises there. Extremely happy with the results and highly recommend Zensmiles!"- P.W. / Google / Aug 04, 2019
DO I NEED A DENTAL CROWN?
Patients may need or want dental crowns for several different reasons. They can be used to protect a decaying tooth and prevent it from breaking, or they may hold parts of a tooth together that have already cracked. Porcelain crowns can help to address a tooth that is loose or extremely worn down. They may also be used to strengthen a tooth with a large cavity that cannot hold a tooth-colored filling, to keep a dental bridge in place, or to hide misshapen or discolored teeth. Crowns can be cemented to the existing tooth or attached to an implant. At Zensmiles, our crowns are crafted with high-quality porcelain. During your consultation, Dr. Sharda will explain your choices and help you choose the best dental crown for your needs.
What To Expect
During your consultation, Dr. Sharda will take dental impressions so a custom crown can be made to fit your tooth. If needed, a temporary crown can be used to cover your tooth while waiting for your final restoration. Once your custom crown is ready, we'll administer a local numbing anesthetic to the treatment area. More sedation techniques may be available to soothe any fear or anxiety. Our practice stands out from others because Dr. Sharda is trained in anesthesiology and is qualified to administer any level of sedation needed for your comfort. When you're ready, we'll prepare your tooth by cleaning away any decay, then filing down the enamel to create room for your dental crown. Your dental crown can either be glued to your tooth or attached to a dental implant. Once set, Dr. Sharda will adjust the fit for comfort.
Crafted with high-quality porcelain, dental crowns are a versatile solution that can address a range of cosmetic and functional issues within your mouth.
